Truxell House, 1325 National Road
Remick Truxell and his wife Katherine first owned the house at 1325 National Road. Truxell was employed at the department store owned by his brother-in-law George M. Snook, who lived next door. William H. and Ena K. Brunhaus next lived in the house until the 1940s. Brunhaus (1879-1966) was an agent with the Municipal Mutual Insurance Company.
The clapboard house was designed in the Neoclassical Revival style, with a side entrance. Records indicate that a pathway once existed between this house and the one at 1315 National Road, providing a walkway for those living behind the houses to access the streetcar line in front.
The house was demolished to provide parking and greenspace for the Bertha Welty Apartments.
