Henry Foster (1831-1890)

This Civil War veteran was a survior of both the notorious, Confederate Andersonville Prison and the Sultana riverboat disaster. Yet his grave remained unmarked for nearly 125 years. As part of the Mt. Wood Cemetery restoration efforts, Hiram Bowen made a marker in Foster's memory, and he and Bekah Karelis placed it at his gravesite.
